I thought it it might be fun to record some of the new words we are now using in England.
BBQ = Braai
Hiya = Hello or Howzit
You alright = How are you or sometimes just hello or howzit
Telly = TV
Trainers = Takkies
Jumper = Jersey
Wicked = cool or good
Oh Bless = ag shame
Tea = dinner
Mate = friend
Well that is all I can think of now, will add more as I hear them.

Geyser has a whole different meaning there. For us in SA it means something that heats the water for our home. In your lingo, it is the boiler.
Yes, I have had to get used to my daughter referring to certain things (she is currently in an area called Northold (sp?)
