At about 3pm Si suddenly decided that we needed to get out, so layered up in a vast amount of clothing and protesting slightly (it was -1 outside and the frost was still thick on the ground from the night before) we set off for a stroll into town to feed the ducks on the pond and then down to the park for the children to burn off some pent up energy.

Turned out to be a lovely idea and we came home chilled and invigorated and longing for hot chocolate and the central heating.

oh i so relate - i love pushing ourselves to get out and go for it - well done - it is just cold weather - nothing to fear - i agree the after feeling of warmth and hot choc is well worth the chilly freezing conditions -
You will become addicted to hot chocolate if you are not careful!!!Judging from Lindas blog they enjoy it as much as you do...I think that the cold is just an excuse to be decadent!!!Lindfields High Street looks very different with no leaves on the trees.I can not imagine what it must be like to have the sun start to set at 3.30 pm
Stunning photos and it is great that you have taken them in such a way so as to make comparisons.
Getting addicted to hot chocolate - I would happily take a walk in the freezing cold, to come back to hot chocolate!!! Enjoy
