Saturday 7th August 2010

After a fab day up in Tonbridge with Amanda and her children on Friday we spent a lovely evening with the Viljoen's for Rob's actual birthday. Days like that always make me come away content and grateful for the AMAZING people God has sent into my life to walk this journey with me. Thanks guys!

This morning saw me with a bee in my bonnet to sort the lounge and get Nick's growing horde of toys back into a manageable corner rather than all over the room as they have been for the last couple of weeks. I have realised that a second "reception room" is an absolute non negotiable in any future accommodation we take, as the days of literally living in a playroom are starting to take their toll.

Many hours of sorting, thinning, planning and packing later (he has been given enough toys to opens a small store in the time we have been here by the amazingly generous people in our lives) I am feeling more in control and my lounge is once again a haven where toys are in well labeled boxes hidden behind the couch and at the end of the day I can close the lovely black velvet toy box my mom bought us the last time she was here and our space is once again "adult" for couple of hours.

My wonderful dh went out and did all the weekly grocery shopping and prepared pizza for dinner in honour of my task (told you it was mammoth lol) and we are all settled in front of the telly for a Harry Potter fest. Winter is definitely on the way back however as tonight the sky is almost completely dark and it is only just a little after 9pm.

Aaah it's a lovely feeling being in control of your space & yes, I agree, when you can eventually upsize another room is in order! Space organisation is an art even here as we are still one room short {3 rooms now for 4 kids so 2 still have to share} but the plastic wheelie bins & baskets are great & not too expensive. You should show us a pic of your "new" space ;-D

It is amazing how good sorting and organizing is for the soul! I feel for you...it must have taken some getting used to, to live in smaller living areas...we are so spoiled in South Africa.

xx
thank you for your friendship;-D
