Saturday 19th March 2011

I woke up this morning feeling almost human for the first time in more than 10 days and that, together with the bright blue skies, had me itching to go out for a bit, stretch my legs and fill my poor lungs with fresh air.

Si and the children were very obliging and we soon agreed a stroll down the promenade in Eastbourne would be a nice way to pass the time and not put too much strain on my pelvis (and healing lungs) and would also give Nick the opportunity to sleep in his pram if needed (he started coughing a couple of days ago).

Eastbourne is a historical seaside town about 50mins further up the East Coast from us and is similar in size to Brighton. As we haven't visited it yet we decided that it was as good a place as any to start our "Summer Wonderings" and it was really nice to stroll along chatting to the children, catching up and just spending good old fashioned quality time together.

Ice cream on the beach was mandatory of course, and Si and I couldn't help having a laugh at the fact that the boys were in shorts (and jumpers), Megs and I were in light jumpers, we were eating ice cream on the beach and it was only 8.5 degrees (lol).

Couldn't help noticing how English we have become :0)
